TURKEY
The Land of The Crescent Moon
Turkey is such a beautiful country. I first wanted to visit ever since I saw a photograph of the hot air balloons in Cappadocia. I just knew I had to visit this place and it did not disappoint. Everything in Cappadocia was perfect, from the friendly balloon operators at Butterfly Balloons who took us on an unforgettable balloon ride at sunrise to Museum Hotel which is where we stayed and spent a good amount of time lounging by their pool.
Istanbul was a very different experience for me. My friends told me it was one of their favorite cities in the whole world and I can see why. I say different because I come from a small city of almost 1.5 million people, Istanbul is 10 times as large. It was amazing and so much to see and do. We spent most of our time in the European side but we did make an excursion to eat at Villa Bosphorus which is an amazing seafood restaurant on the Asia side. One thing that did make me sad about Istanbul was the amount of stray dogs. They’re friendly and like to follow you around for a bit. If you would like to feed them there are recycling machines all around, you just deposit some empty cans and it dispenses dog food. It’s a win win all around.
