Project Description
Mount Kirkjufell, or “Church Mountain” in English, is this beautiful horn shaped mountain that just seems to come up out of the Earth. I almost didn’t even make it here because it was the end of my long day on a photography tour; I had fallen asleep in the car as we drove here. My guide woke me up and I had to take a minute to shake the fog out of my brain before I could compose myself and then compose a half decent photo.
I remember it was a cold and rainy evening by the time we arrived. The sky was cloudy and moody and I just knew a storm was approaching. Sure enough shortly after we arrived a storm rolled through, it was one of those storms that just dumps everything it has all at once and doesn’t save anything for later. 10 minutes later the cloud cover gave way to blue skies and I could see the sunlight hitting the mountain.
